Once iMessage is deactivated and you're sure your phone number has been deleted from all your Apple equipment you can buy a new phone. The last resort I recommend trying is signing out of your Apple ID and signing back in. Step Four: Sign Out of iMessage & Back In If iMessage still isnt working, try this last step. Wait 45 days before dumping your iPhone for a new non-Apple phone. If your iMessage problem is that they’re sending from your email, locate Start New Conversations From and select your number, instead of an email. I couldnt figure out why my iPad wasnt able to send text messages. The message will turn from blue to green. The secret is to turn on the text message forwarding on your iPhone. 5) Delete the message from the conversation by holding the text bubble and choosing More > trash icon > Delete Message. On your iPhone: Go to Settings > Messages > Toggle off iMessage > Wait a few seconds and turn it back on. Have your closest friends and loved ones delete and re-add your phone number from their contact lists. You might want to also go to and poke around in the account and settings menus there, too. Under the 'Accounts' tab, you will see all the accounts youve set up to use with Messages, including iCloud. Access your preferences by going to the menubar and clicking Messages -> Preferences. ICloud is baffling - even for Apple fans. You can disable Messages.app s ability to receive text messages on your Mac: Open the Messages application. ![]()
